A word from the site admin
Admittedly, I'm biased. I've known Jim Butcher for several years now and,
heck, if you meet the guy, you'll have a hard time not liking him. I've
played in role-playing games he's run. I've met his stellar kid and wife.
So you can expect that I'll probably have a fairly positive tilt on what the
guy writes.
So what.
This guy is hot. I mean it; you won't find great literature in his
writing, I'll grant (my five years of English degree can confirm that), but
you're not supposed to. Jim is a craftsman of escapism, and does damned
fine work. You want high art? Go visit the classics section of your
favorite bookstore. You want a thrill ride with a a modern-day fantasy spin?
Get yourself a copy of any one of the Dresden Files --
Storm Front is the first.
If you have a pulse (one assumes you aren't one of Bob's pals), you'll find
yourself under Harry's spell in short order. Good luck putting the book down.
I know I couldn't.
And if you think "Fan Attic" is a bad enough pun... wait until you see the
upcoming Harry titles. I was merciful. Jim -- seldom is. And that's why
we love him.
