My Lady, I regret that I cannot be there to see you awaken, and to convey these tidings myself. Therefore this letter must do. I am saddened to inform you that you have been ill used by the Queen, whom, as you will no doubt soon be informed as others, has joined with her siblings in a traitorous plot against the kingdom and our rightful liege. I do not know what you recall, but evidence suggests that you were ensorcelled by the Queen to bring Aine to the peak of Kolvir, where the Queen and her siblings were performing an arcane ritual to return their deceased father and brother from the City of the Dead. They were only partially successful, returning just Kipwyn to this plane of existence, before being interrupted and forced to flee. They spirited themselves and our daughter away, but left you, unconscious upon the mountain. I found you there and bore you back to the castle, where you have been tended to since. I must ask you to endeavour to remember what you can of that evening and your interactions with the Queen prior to that, as some hints may lie within that could prove vital to the security of the realm. No suspicion of conspiracy falls upon you; I trust that your heart remains pure, and you cannot be blamed for having fallen under the compulsion of an evil spell. You will also be gladdened to know that my own name has been cleared, as it has now become evident that the Queen was responsible for framing me and the events spawned by that, as a means of preventing any of the King's sons from interfering with the execution of her treacherous plan. I swear to you that I will not rest until I find our daughter and return her home. Prince Finndo fears that the traitors mean to use her in some dark rite to restore the ghost of Nod's son Kipwyn to true life; in using her blood thus, they revenge themselves doubly upon our King. I am called to battle the coming darkness, and thus must again depart. Treat the contents of this letter as secret; relay them to no one, and burn this to ash when you are finished reading it. Be careful, for my enemies have already proven themselves to be your enemies as well. More, I must explain when I return. Faithfully, Cyrus
