As a city on the slope up Kolvir, the primary geographic breakdown is by tarraces, generally referred to as decks, from lowest to highest.
- Harbor - Unterraced territory surrounding the Harbor. As the bottom of the drainage system (Amber City achieves it by making use of gravity and the mountain's slope), it's an atrocious place to live. It is primarily a warehouse district.
- Sailor's Deck - The poor quarter, primarily residential for those who cannot live elsewhere. It has no shortage of bars and flophouses.
- Potter's Deck - Named for the rich clay that used to be the signature of this part of the mountain. It is the working class neighborhood, poor but not destitute.
- Trader's Deck - Nicer neighborhood, merchants and marketplaces.
- Vinter's Deck/The Vineyards - This neighborhood was originally a large vineyard of a minor family who grew rich parcelling it out; nice expansive homes for Lordships are found here.
- The Ramparts - Neighborhood closest to the castle, safe and somewhat sterile, home for the castle staff.
